Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant Male Evergreen Park, IL 60805 $18.10 - $18.75 an hour - Part-time, Full-time $18.10 - $18.75 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide high-quality, personalized care to individuals in their own residences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in home health and community care, with a focus on enhancing the well-being, safety, and independence of clients. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance with daily activities and medical needs. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, and a comprehensive understanding of patient care protocols. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor and observe patients' health status, noting changes in condition and reporting findings to healthcare professionals. Administer medications accurately according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences, supporting overall health and wellness. Support mobility and transfer techniques using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling practices. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and social engagement. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry. Assist with transportation for medical appointments or community outings, ensuring client safety at all times. Follow all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification, and emergency procedures to ensure client safety during caregiving activities. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address specific needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Must drive Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in home health settings or community-based care environments. Experience working with individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders—is highly valued. Familiarity with senior care practices, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or hospice care enhances suitability for this role. Proven skills in patient observation, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and manual handling are essential. Additional experience in caring for individuals with autism or dementia supports the ability to deliver specialized memory care services. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; previous training in HIPAA compliance ensures confidentiality standards are maintained. A background in social work or geriatrics further supports effective client communication and holistic caregiving approaches.
