Job Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your dedication will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals needing support with daily activities and specialized care. This rewarding role involves providing personalized assistance, ensuring safety, and promoting independence for clients across various care settings. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare teams. Support medication administration following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring dietary needs are met according to individual care plans. Facilitate safe patient transfers using manual handling techniques or equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and infection control practices. Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in activities that enhance their mental well-being, including memory care or Alzheimer's care. Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings, ensuring client safety during travel. Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and organizational policies. Support clients with complex needs such as dementia, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities by implementing specialized care strategies. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely and respond promptly to changes in condition or behavior. Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience maintaining patient confidentiality is essential. Hands-on experience with patient monitoring tools such as vital signs measurement and medication administration is required. Familiarity with care plans development and implementation for residents with dementia or memory care needs enhances your suitability for this role. Certification in CPR and First Aid is necessary; additional certifications like Hoyer lift operation or manual handling are a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork in home & community care settings are vital for success. Pay:
$18.75 - $18.80 per hour
