Anchor Homes Inc. is a Medicaid Wavier company working with the developmentally disabled and special needs adults, our company has a 3 to 1 ratio (3 clients to 1 staff) Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated people to join our team. In this role you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs, helping them achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being in various settings and community-based environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. Responsibilities As Direct Support Professionals your responsibilities will include the following that you will be trained. Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations Support clients during meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs while ensuring safety standards are met Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs Use proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury to clients in wheelchairs Observe and document client's condition, behavior, and progress with accurate record-keeping Maintain a clean and safe environment Assisting with transportation to appointments or community events as needed Supporting clients in social activities and community outings or activities that enhance their social skills Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care Respond promptly to emergencies by providing first aid or CPR when necessary Offering emotional support to promote mental well being Skills Ability to work with people with disabilities or developmental challenges with patience and empathy Strong observational skills for client monitoring and safety assessments Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting clients using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids Excellent communication skills for working effectively with client's families, healthcare teams, and other caregivers Compassionate attitude with a focus on person-centered caregiving that respects individual dignity and independence This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve while working within a supportive team environment.
