In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether supporting residents in group homes, or at a community-based Day Program, your energy and commitment will foster a positive environment where clients feel valued and empowered. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while contributing to a caring community. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Support clients with medication administration and monitor vital signs to ensure health and safety. Engage in patient observation and monitor behavioral or health changes, reporting findings accurately to nursing. Prepare nutritious meals, assist with meal planning, and ensure dietary needs are met according to care plans. Use proper manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts to ensure safety during mobility assistance. Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control protocols. Document care activities thoroughly while respecting client confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments or community outings as needed. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living, or home health environments is highly preferred. Valid Driver's License Reliable transportation Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; This can be obtained during the training process. Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and co-workers are essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while maintaining client comfort. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities support is advantageous.
