Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and become a vital part of empowering individuals with diverse needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care, and support to individuals in various settings; including group homes, activity programs, and community-based programs/activities. Your compassionate and committed approach will help foster a safe, respectful environment where individuals can thrive. This paid position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while developing valuable skills in individual care, behavioral support, and community integration. 3 day work week. Pay $18.00 per hour. Positions available in Osawatomie, Paola, LaCygne, and Garnett Kansas. Day hours-8 am

We strive to provide opportunities and support their choices in life. Responsibilities Assist persons served with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and mobility support if applicable; using manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts, sit to stands, and gait belts. Support persons served by observing and/or redirecting behaviors, following individual care plans/planned based supports, and reporting any concerns promptly to supervisors and case management. Support medication administration following HIPAA regulations and care plans to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with cooking, meal planning, and shopping if applicable. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing cleaning duties in their rooms and common areas. Document persons served progress accurately in T logs, incident reports (GER's), and other required records while respecting and adhering to confidentiality standards. Engage persons served in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and mental well-being. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Must pass all background checks Prior 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly preferred but not required. Willingness to learn observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, CPR/first aid, and other required certifications is essential. Ability to perform safe lifting practices and assist with manual handling tasks such as transfers using Hoyer lifts or other equipment. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with persons served, team members, and healthcare professionals. Demonstrate understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintain confidentiality. Time management skills and attendance practices will be advantageous.
