Personal Care Assistant Bardstown, KY 40004 $15 an hour - Part-time, Full-time $15 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your dedication and caring nature will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance to promote independence, safety, and well-being in various settings including assisted living facilities, group homes, and private residences. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a warm, supportive environment for those in your care. Duties Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing changes in condition; report findings to healthcare professionals promptly Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization of personal spaces Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to ensure safe patient transfers and prevent injury Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and assist with updating care plans regularly Qualifications Prior experience working in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Vital signs monitoring, and use of medical equipment like Hoyer lifts or patient monitors Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, residents, families, and social workers Demonstrated understanding of long-term care practices and home & community care standards Embark on a rewarding career where your efforts directly enhance the quality of life for those you serve.
