Personal Care Assistant -
Male Caregiver Requested Location:
Lawrenceburg, KY Area Schedule:
Monday-Friday 3:30p -6:30p

We're seeking a dedicated Life Enrichment Specialist (male caregiver preferred) to bring these values to life while supporting a wonderful client in the home. About the Role You'll play a meaningful role in helping our client maintain independence, dignity, and joy in daily living. Client is upbeat, enjoy friendly company, and love sitting outside on the porch. Your presence and reliability will make a real difference in comfort, safety, and sense of companionship. The client prefers a male caregiver but is now accepting female caregivers as well. Race or nationality does not matter. Home environment No smoking in the home. Animals include two mostly indoor dogs, nine indoor/outdoor cats, a gecko, and a horse on the property. The home is lived-in and cluttered, with no known infestations. The caregiver will not be required to drive the client or run errands. Client needs The client is independently mobile and does not require physical mobility assistance. However, he may pace indoors and has a history of leaving the home, so he should be considered a flight risk and closely supervised.
He needs support with:
Meal preparation and mealtime assistance as needed Bathroom care, as he is not toilet trained Ongoing supervision and redirection Engaging, structured activities He enjoys puzzles, Legos, watching others draw or color, animals, zoos, and aquariums. His verbal communication is limited, generally using one to three words at a time. He can follow directions when calm. Caregiver fit and safety The best caregiver will be calm, patient, observant, and comfortable providing consistent structure and de-escalation. The client generally keeps to himself but may have behavioral outbursts, including head-banging when upset. He can become aggressive and is described as strong and tall for his age. A caregiver should be able to: Recognize signs of escalation and use calm redirection Maintain close supervision due to elopement history Follow established behavioral and safety plans Remain composed during aggression or self-injurious behavior Use the client's interests—especially animals and hands-on activities—to build rapport and support regulation
