Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being in a group home or residential setting. Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Support clients in daily living activities such as meal preparation, cooking, and household tasks. Monitor patient health and report any changes or concerns to the supervising staff. Assist individuals with mobility challenges and perform heavy lifting as needed. Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote social interaction and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to hygiene and safety protocols. Document care provided and maintain accurate records of client progress and activities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable. Previous caregiving experience in a group home or similar setting is preferred. Strong patient monitoring skills to ensure the health and safety of clients. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility or transfers. Knowledge of hospice care practices is a plus for supporting terminally ill clients. Familiarity with memory care techniques to assist clients with cognitive impairments. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members. A caring attitude and commitment to providing high-quality support to those in need.
