Job Description

Alexander Milne Developmental Services is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) . Weekly Pay | Paid Training | Day & Night Shifts Available Location - Covington Responsibilities Provide direct care and personal assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility Assist with meal planning, meal preparation, feeding assistance, and light housekeeping Administer or assist with medications according to agency policy (if applicable) Follow individualized care plans and document services accurately Monitor individuals for changes in physical health, behavior, or emotional well-being and report concerns promptly Support positive behavior strategies and encourage independence Assist with transportation to medical appointments, recreational activities, community outings, and daily errands Build positive relationships while promoting dignity, choice, and respect Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment Work collaboratively with supervisors, nurses, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members Complete required documentation and electronic records Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to pass a criminal background check Ability to lift, transfer, and support up to 75 pounds Basic computer and documentation skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing quality care Additional preferred qualifications: Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) CPR & First Aid Certification Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD/I/DD), autism, behavioral health, or mental health needs When you join our team, you're not just accepting a job—you're building a meaningful career while making a lasting impact in the lives of others.
