Job Description

I'm looking for a kind, dependable personal care attendant to work directly with me in my home. I am a male quadriplegic who needs assistance with daily activities because of my physical limitations. This is a direct-hire position. No previous PCA or healthcare experience is required. I will provide paid, hands-on training and guide you through the routine until you are comfortable and confident. Most people who have worked with me began without any caregiving experience. Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Five hours per day, 25 hours per week Additional hours may become available for someone who is dependable and a good fit. Morning Routine I use a powered ceiling lift for transfers between my bed and wheelchair, so transfers do not rely on manual lifting. My routine alternates between shower days and bowel-program days.

Typical responsibilities include:

Assisting with transfers using the ceiling lift Showering and personal hygiene Bowel-program assistance Intermittent catheterization as needed Passive range-of-motion exercises for my legs Dressing Medication assistance Meal preparation Laundry and light housekeeping Some of these tasks may sound unfamiliar, but they are straightforward to learn, and complete training will be provided. Who I'm Looking For What matters most is that you are reliable, kind, comfortable learning personal-care tasks, and interested in helping me live as independently as possible. A good PCA can make a meaningful difference in my everyday life, and I value the people who help make that independence possible. Qualifications No prior caregiving experience required Reliable and punctual Comfortable providing hands-on personal care Willing and able to follow an established routine Communicates effectively Lives within a reasonable commuting distance Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation My care is funded through the MassHealth PCA program and payroll is administered by Tempus Unlimited.
