Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (Male or Female) to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and foster a safe, nurturing environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while working in a supportive community-focused setting. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Provide compassionate dementia and Alzheimer's care, implementing memory care strategies to support cognitive well-being Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and mobility needs Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary plans and assist with feeding when necessary Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to encourage participation and emotional well-being Skills Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly desirable Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, and memory care best practices Ability to perform safe patient lifting practices and heavy lifting when required Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic first aid/CPR certification Experience working with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Competence in maintaining cleanliness through cleaning tasks and adhering to health standards Join us if you're passionate about caregiving and eager to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve!
