Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and flexible On-Call Float Direct Support Professional to provide vital assistance across various care settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with developmental or cognitive disabilities, and residents in assisted living or residential care environments. As an on-call float, you will step into different roles as needed, ensuring seamless care delivery and maintaining a positive, supportive environment. Responsibilities Provide direct personal care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Assist residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines Monitor vital signs and observe health status to identify any changes requiring attention Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care, using specialized techniques to promote safety and comfort Operate standard passenger cars safely for transportation needs within the community or facility Follow safe manual handling practices when lifting or transferring residents to prevent injury Maintain clear communication with clients, team members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care Assist with meal preparation, light cleaning, and maintaining a clean, safe environment in compliance with health standards Document care activities accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems or paper logs as required Respond promptly to emergency situations by applying first aid or CPR when necessary Requirements Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory care techniques, and behavioral management strategies Experience working with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities is highly valued Valid CPR and First Aid certification required; ongoing training encouraged Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely and responsibly Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while ensuring resident safety Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Prior experience with EMR systems or similar documentation tools is a plus Flexibility to be available on an on-call basis across different shifts as needed Join us in providing compassionate support that empowers individuals to live their best lives!
