Job Description

Overview We are currently seeking to hire a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide daily living assistance to individual in a in-home setting in Canby, MN. This includes tasks such as grooming, bathing, housework, and other errands. The ideal candidate should have a reliable vehicle and be able to travel during winter conditions. They should also be able to lift up to 50 pounds, which includes loading wheelchairs into cars. This position 8-10 hours depending on the client's needs in the during the day. We are looking for a PCA to start immediately, but they must be able to pass a background check. Duties Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the patient's quality of life. Monitor and report changes in patients' health status to staff. Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas. Assist with basic medical tasks under the supervision of healthcare professionals. Requirements Previous experience in a personal care assistant role or similar position preferred. Knowledge of geriatrics and experience working with dementia patients highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately with patients and families. Certification as a Personal Care Assistant(will train and assist in acquiring certification).
