Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and personal care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents or clients, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those receiving hospice or memory care. The successful candidate will be well-versed in patient observation, medication administration, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) within a respectful and supportive environment. Duties Assist residents or clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing while maintaining dignity and respect. Support mobility through safe transfer techniques using equipment like Hoyer lifts or assistive devices. Monitor vital signs and observe patients for any changes in health status, reporting findings to healthcare professionals promptly. Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary plans, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards. Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety. Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light housekeeping duties including laundry and sanitation tasks. Document care provided and update resident records diligently, ensuring compliance with privacy policies such as HIPAA. Engage residents in social activities or therapeutic exercises to promote mental well-being and social interaction. Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of caregiving practices including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient monitoring. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's or dementia care are a plus. Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA regulations, and documentation procedures is essential for compliance and quality assurance. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when necessary for resident transfers or mobility assistance. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or memory impairments. Experience working with people who have disabilities or chronic conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia enhances effectiveness in this role. Pay:
$11.25 - $13.00 per hour
