Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care plans aligned with healthcare standards like HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to promote health and well-being. Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to enhance mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, sanitation of care areas, and ensuring infection control practices are followed. Assist with transportation needs within the community or facility, including escorting clients to appointments or activities using personal transportation assistance. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely for changes in condition, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques such as vital signs measurement and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in hospice care, medication administration, or manual handling are advantageous. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays—including autism spectrum disorder—is desirable. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and adhere strictly to safety protocols to ensure both client and caregiver safety.
