PCA Personal Care Assistant

Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and care to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine or related fields, with experience in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, outpatient facilities, or trauma centers. This role is vital in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients while promoting their independence and dignity. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and record clients' health status, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Help clients with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring their safety at all times. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, inpatient units, outpatient facilities, and teaching hospitals. Engage in ongoing training and education to enhance personal care skills and knowledge of emergency medicine practices. Qualifications Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of medical-surgical practices and familiarity with hospital medicine is advantageous. Experience working in high-acuity environments such as PICU or OR is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to follow instructions accurately while maintaining confidentiality of client information.
