Job Description

Direct Support Professional - Part-Time, 3 days a week, 15 hours per week A Caring Heart Case Management, Inc. A Caring Heart Case Management, Inc. is seeking dependable, compassionate, and motivated individuals to serve as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) providing habilitation services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This part-time role is ideal for someone who is patient, reliable, and genuinely interested in making a meaningful impact in the lives of others. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong transferable skills and a heart for service. This position offers the opportunity to provide purpose-driven support that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life. Position Details Flexible scheduling based on client needs Starting pay from $15 per hour Service area: Kenansville and Mt. Olive Primary Responsibilities Provide direct support and habilitative services in home and community settings Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care and hygiene when required Support skill development and independence goals Facilitate safe and engaging community outings and social activities Transport clients to approved activities and appointments Follow individualized care plans and service guidelines Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license Minimum of 3 years driving experience Reliable personal vehicle with active auto insurance meeting state requirements Ability to pass background screenings Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to safely assist individuals who use wheelchairs Willingness to provide personal care, including bathing assistance when needed Preferred (Not Required) Experience At least 1 year of DSP experience (preferred but not required) Experience as a CNA, PCA, caregiver, or in healthcare support Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral needs, or in human services settings We welcome candidates with strong transferable skills such as hands-on care experience, patience, emotional maturity, and strong interpersonal communication. With proper training and support, candidates from CNA or caregiving backgrounds can transition successfully into DSP roles. Do you have a vehicle for use at work? Would you be comfortable performing these essential duties as part of your role? Please describe your experience working with individuals that are in the IDD populations. Also describe your experience working in a residential setting. Please include organizations that you worked for, volunteered for, and/or personal experience that you have.
Training Requirements:
This position requires successful completion of four paid training days (including Onboarding, in-person CPR/First Aid or Safety Care sessions, and one at-home Relias module). Training days may not be consecutive, and travel up to one hour may be required depending on the location. Compensation is provided if travel is required and attendance is confirmed. All training must be completed prior to starting your official schedule. Are you able to meet these training requirements?
