Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including home health, assisted living, nursing homes, and memory care facilities. This vital role involves assisting clients with daily activities, monitoring health conditions, and ensuring their safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates in accordance with care plans Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines to ensure privacy and safety Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation Maintain cleanliness of client living spaces through regular cleaning tasks to promote hygiene and comfort Observe patients closely for any changes in condition or behavior, especially those with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities, or seniors in settings like group homes or long-term care facilities Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and geriatrics best practices Ability to perform patient monitoring and assist with complex patient transfer methods safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation of care activities Familiarity with home health procedures, patient personal care assistance, and assisted living protocols Certification in CPR and First Aid; additional training in manual handling or heavy lifting is a plus Experience working within HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information Join us in providing compassionate care that truly makes a difference!
