Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, particularly in settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, or teaching hospitals. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence. Duties Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Provide mobility assistance and help clients with transfers to and from beds or wheelchairs. Monitor and document clients' health status, reporting any changes to the healthcare team. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans. Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as necessary. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or trauma centers to deliver comprehensive care. Experience Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with emergency medicine practices and protocols is advantageous. Experience working in geriatrics or within a teaching hospital environment is a plus. Knowledge of hospital medicine practices, particularly in Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, will be beneficial. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team are essential.
