Direct Support Professional

Job Description

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or other health conditions. In this role, you will work closely with residents in their homes to promote independence, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care and possess relevant experience in healthcare or social services. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through compassionate caregiving and support. On site on call, awake, and overtime hours available. Earn overtime and get paid while you sleep(on site on call)! Hiring full and part time, flexible hours! Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance Provide patient observation and monitor health status, and overall well-being Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations Support residents with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs Assist with mobility using equipment Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning and sanitation tasks Recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies by administering CPR or first aid as needed Document care activities accurately while respecting residents' privacy and confidentiality Support residents in community integration activities and social engagement Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and team members to ensure comprehensive care Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in healthcare or social services environments such as group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health agencies.
Relevant skills include:
First aid and CPR certification Knowledge of medication administration and patient monitoring Working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards Experience assisting with ADLs and providing long-term or home & community care Ability to perform light lifting (up to 35lbs) when necessary for resident safety and mobility assistance Background in nursing, social work, or caregiving roles that involve patient observation and support This role is vital for enhancing the quality of life for residents through attentive caregiving and compassionate support. Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 60.0 per week
