Job Overview Part Time 12-16 Hours Weekly As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate care and support in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and community environments. You will assist clients with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide patient care and support for individuals with diverse needs, including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, and autism. Monitor clients' vital signs and overall health status while maintaining accurate records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light cleaning duties as needed. Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals. Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Requirements Experience working in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is preferred. Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable. Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs. Previous experience in caregiving or social work is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients as needed. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
