Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide vital support to individuals in various care settings. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts. Monitor patients' vital signs, observe for changes in condition, and report findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Support clients with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by healthcare providers. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring client safety at all times. Document patient observations, care activities, and progress in compliance with home health or long-term care standards. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is preferred. Ability to perform patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and basic first aid including CPR certification. Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and patient personal care assistance techniques. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation; experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is a plus. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, and assist with mobility tasks safely. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of client information.
