Job Description
Gold Society is seeking two dependable and experienced Direct Support Professionals to work in a 24-hour residential home in Waxahachie, Texas. Applicants must have previous experience working in a residential home, group home, supported-living environment or similar direct-care setting. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, professional, reliable and able to provide residents with safe, respectful and person-centered support. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living and personal-care needs. Provide supervision and ensure residents' health and safety. Prepare meals and assist with household tasks. Support residents with community activities and appointments. Follow individual service plans and behavior-support instructions. Assist with medications only as permitted by training, delegation and agency policy. Complete daily service notes, shift reports and incident documentation. Maintain a clean, safe and organized residential environment. Report health changes, incidents and safety concerns promptly. Maintain residents' dignity, privacy and confidentiality. Communicate professionally with residents, families, supervisors and other team members. Remain awake and attentive throughout assigned overnight shifts. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least one year of experience in a 24-hour residential home, group home, supported-living program or similar setting. At least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass criminal-history, employee-misconduct and registry background checks. Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification before working independently. Ability to complete all required orientation and training. Ability to work assigned days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends or holidays. Ability to lift, assist and reposition residents safely when required by the position. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or complex care needs. Experience with service documentation, incident reporting and medication assistance.
