PCA Personal Care Assistant Franklin, VA 23851 $12.77 - $14.00 an hour - Part-time, Full-time, PRN $12.77 - $14.00 an hour - Part-time, Full-time, PRN Job Summary A Preferred Choice Home Health Care LLC is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Care Aides (PCAs) to provide non-medical support and assistance to clients in their homes. The PCA will help clients maintain independence and dignity by assisting with activities of daily living and ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene Support clients with ambulation, mobility, and transfers Provide assistance with meal preparation, feeding, and following dietary plans Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, sweeping, and changing bed linens Remind clients to take medications (no hands-on administration) Offer companionship and emotional support Observe and report any changes in client condition to the supervisor or nurse Maintain accurate documentation of services provided Follow the care plan and attend required training and meetings
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required Previous experience in home care or caregiving is preferred, but not required Must have a valid photo ID Reliable transportation and punctuality required Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and supervisors Must pass a background check and required screenings
Skills and Competencies:
Compassionate and patient-centered Dependable and responsible Ability to follow instructions and work independently Good interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge of basic safety and infection control "Newly hired PCAs who join our team with their client will qualify for a $200 bonus after 90 days, provided the client's service authorization is approved
