Position Summary As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing daily care, supervision, and support to children and youth residing in our home. You will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where every child is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Working closely with the Administrator, Lead Staff, and management team, you will promote each child's well-being by modeling healthy behaviors, implementing individualized service plans, encouraging personal growth, and ensuring the home remains clean, secure, and welcoming. Position Type:

Direct care role supporting children or youth in a residential care setting.

Schedule:

Day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required based on program needs.

Work Environment:

Staff work directly with residents in a structured, supervised, and safety-focused environment. Supervisor and Reporting Structure The Direct Support Professional reports to the assigned supervisor, program manager, or facility leadership. Staff are expected to follow the direction of supervisory staff, communicate resident needs or concerns promptly, and participate in team communication related to care planning, safety, and daily operations. Work Location This position is located at Rookery Youth Residential Home (Marysville, WA) and may include work within the residence, community-based activities, appointments, transportation support, and other approved off-site activities related to resident care. Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility during assigned shifts.
• Ability to assist residents with daily living activities, personal care, and safety needs as appropriate.
• Ability to respond quickly and calmly during emergencies or behavioral situations.
• Ability to perform light housekeeping and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Ability to participate in community outings, transportation routines, and supervised activities.

Background Check Requirements Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required background checks, including DCYF background clearance, fingerprinting, and any additional checks required by Paramount, the facility, or Washington State licensing and compliance requirements. Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess current First Aid and CPR certification accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Must have at least six months of full-time or lived experience working specifically with the demographic of children or youth served by the facility, or be attending classes at an accredited college or university related to caring for the demographic served by the facility. Required Certifications and Training
• Earn DSP Year 1 certification within 12 months of hire.
• Complete 16 hours of continuing education annually.
• Complete training and certification in emergency interventions specific to residents served by the facility.
• Receive full training on facility policies and each client service plan the staff member helps implement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Model healthy behaviors, appropriate boundaries, and positive social interactions.
• Support residents with daily routines, including meals, wake-up routines, hygiene, and off-site activities or trips.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and secure facility environment.
• Assist with medications in accordance with facility policy and applicable requirements.
• Accurately document and track data related to resident goals and service plans.
• Follow each resident's service plan and support implementation of assigned care strategies.
• Use sound judgment and reasonable and prudent practices when schedule adjustments or deviations are necessary.
• Fulfill mandated reporter responsibilities and report concerns as required.
• Support personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and other daily living tasks as appropriate.

• Complete First Aid/CPR.
• Complete the Food Handler Permit.
• Register for DDA 40-hour training.
• Submit the DCYF background check.
• Initiate fingerprinting background clearance.

These items are mandatory requirement for Paramount onboarding and Washington State compliance. Pre-service Training Requirements Pre-service training requires 16 hours. The pre-service training template is ready for the employee file, and each e-learning course will provide a certificate of completion. Ron will set up each employee's e-learning profile in advance to help prevent completion issues. Additional Coordination ItemsBefore the Start Date Once the position has been accepted, new staff should complete all required onboarding items two weeks before their start date.
