Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence Monitor patient health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report any abnormalities promptly Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences; assist residents with meal consumption when needed Facilitate patient transfers using appropriate methods such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques to ensure safety during mobility assistance Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols Document patient observations, care activities, and communication with healthcare professionals accurately in compliance with privacy standards Provide emotional support through active listening, engaging conversation, and companionship to foster a positive environment Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings using personal transportation or agency vehicles when necessary Support residents with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities through tailored care strategies Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs is essential Experience with Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia support or neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to serve residents effectively Familiarity with manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods ensures safe mobility assistance Strong understanding of HIPAA privacy regulations and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or hospice care are advantageous Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining a caring attitude Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams effectively Compassionate nature combined with a proactive approach to providing personalized patient care Join us as a Personal Care Assistant and become an integral part of a team committed to enriching lives through compassionate caregiving.
