Position Summary:

The College of Veterinary Medicine is recruiting a Registered Veterinary Technician to support the teaching mission within the Veterinary Clinical Skills Program. The primary purpose of this position is to promote and support education of veterinary students in clinical simulation laboratories. This position performs a wide variety of instructional and managerial duties for the Clinical Skills Program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Instruct & Supervise:

Assist Clinical Skills faculty in instructing and supervising veterinary students during laboratory sessions in the pre-clinical curriculum (Years 1-3).

+

Lab Preparation & Execution:

Prepare, set up, and conduct clinical skills laboratories, ensuring all materials, models, and specimens are ready for instruction.

+

Demonstration & Coaching:

Demonstrate clinical procedures and techniques using simulations and live animals, providing skill-based coaching and constructive feedback to students.

Assessment Support:

Set up and assist in administering Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).

Lab & Equipment Stewardship:

Maintain all teaching laboratories, equipment, and storage areas to a high standard of organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness.

Curriculum Delivery:

Utilize diverse teaching tools-including simulation models, anatomic specimens, and live animals-to train students in clinical skills across principal veterinary species (e.g., dogs, cats, horses, livestock).

Asset Management:

Oversee the full lifecycle of teaching assets, including the inventory, maintenance, repair, and sterilization of simulation models and surgical equipment.
