Under the leadership of the Laboratory Director and Coordinator, ensure that all activities and assets of assigned section(s) are effectively managed in order to achieve departmental and organizational goals. This includes supervision of personnel performing those activities & charge capture/ compliance duties. Responsible for procedures on various patient specimens giving careful attention to safety, quality assurance and regulatory guidelines including documentation of results. Work closely with lab director for data management, QA, PI, regulatory & other duties necessary for the smooth operation of the department.
BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards and policies. Required to work with the Director of Laboratory regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Laboratory Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent with sufficient science classes to meet
CAP/CLIA
requirements
Experience:
12 months on the job experience without attending a program or having a qualified certification
Other:
Specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; E.G., clerical/administrative
Preferred Education:
Any certification useful to the job to include Transcription and/or
Healthcare Coding Primary Source Verification:

Physical Demands:

Spend 8 hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse, daily. Ability to stand/walk, bend/stoop/twist, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. Spends eight hours or more off and on in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Must be able to respond and handle critical, highly stressful situations related Lab functions. Work Environment Laboratory Department or Clinic setting, within a hospital environment Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Hospital floor lab staff:
Shifts can vary from 8, 10- or 12-hour shifts depending on days, evenings, nights, or weekend staffing Office staff: 5 days a week, Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts.
