A Sleep Technician - Polysomnographic Technologist works to provide comprehensive diagnostic testing of sleep disorders. This may involve diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient. Follow procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Generate accurate reports by tabulating data. Perform routine equipment care and maintenance. Evaluate sleep study related equipment and inventory. Respond to study participant's procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate information. Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy. Comply with the sleep center and professional association's Standards of Conduct Ensure ongoing sleep center compliance with all laws and regulations; ensure that the sleep center meets or exceeds accreditation standards; and implement ''best practices'' in all departmental activities. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies. Participate in the sleep center's Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator. Direct and participate in sleep center committees when requested. Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Graveyard Shift starts at approximately 8pm.
