Responsibilities The Laboratory Technician position is responsible for providing QA/QC support for daily site operations. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, performing testing and analysis for raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, customer samples, data analysis and reporting, coordinating other inspections and/or release of material in LIMS/SAP, verifications, PMs, calibrations, troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, reagent, equipment, consumable inventory control, as well as other functions to support laboratory operations. Primary Duties Prepare standards. Record, prepare, test and track samples throughout the lab process.
Perform quality assurance activities to verify the capability of equipment and methods
Assemble, dismantle, troubleshoot, maintain, repair and calibrate analytical test equipment
Perform test method reviews to ensure compliance
Work with the lab team to complete workload and prioritize analyses to support plant operations
Understand and adhere to site safety rules, policies and programs
Assist in training of others on lab tech responsibilities when requested
Maintain lab areas in a clean, safe and well-organized manner
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support site operations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred
Bachelor's degree in non-chemistry discipline, Associate's degree, high school diploma or GED or related laboratory technician certification with experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree in Chemistry
Formal training in general laboratory procedures
General computer experience with standard software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with LIMS and GC software is highly preferred but not required
Experience with analytical equipment and instrumentation such as: GC, Karl Fisher, Auto-Titrators and Colorimeter preferred Additional Qualifications Ability to multitask and prioritize a variety of analytical tasks
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good organizational and problem-solving skills
Highly motivated self-starter
Work independently with minimal supervision
