This is an hourly, time-clock position. First shift is scheduled generally from 4:30 AM to 12:30 PM, second shift is 12:30 PM - 8:30 PM, and third shift is 8:30 PM - 4:30 AM. This shift receives an unpaid 30-minute meal period. Overtime hours and weekends may be required, depending on the workload. Key Responsibilities Unpack, set up, and repack candles for burn testing. Light and extinguish candles according to company methods, including cutting and trimming wicks. Accurately observe and record data on flame height, melt pool, sooting, wick condition, and other required information. Format, store, and transmit data as required. Conduct and document flashpoint testing. Maintain a working knowledge of all customers' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to burn testing. Ensure the burn testing laboratory is organized, clean, and safe. Assist with other lab projects as needed. Qualifications & Skills A high school diploma or two years of related experience is required. Must have strong math and observation skills, with the ability to take precise measurements using a ruler or other measuring devices. Proficiency in using basic laboratory and mathematical tools. Must be able to use a computer for data entry and transmission, with proficiency in programs like Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to distinguish between colors. Must achieve a passing score on the measurement test. Must be able to stand and bend at the waist for the entire shift and comfortably lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Additional Information:
This position requires a 2-4 week training period.
