TIME MEDICAL ASSISTING INSTRUCTOR PRIMARY LOCATION

DESCRIPTION
Georgia Piedmont Technical College is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Medical Assisting Instructor to provide high-quality instruction within the Medical Assisting Program. The instructor will be responsible for delivering engaging classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction that prepares students with the knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies required for successful careers in medical assisting. This position will also support student success, skills development, and program outcomes while contributing to the continued growth and quality of the Medical Assisting Program across multiple campuses. A flexible work schedule is necessary, as classes may be taught during day, evening, and Saturday periods.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide classroom and laboratory instruction for Medical Assisting courses, including day, evening, and Saturday offerings.
- Teach both in-person and online (hybrid or asynchronous) courses using effective and innovative pedagogical strategies.
- Maintain responsibility for all phases of the Medical Assisting curriculum, including lecture, lab, and clinical instruction.
- Assist in developing, evaluating, and updating program curriculum, syllabi, and instructional materials.
- Advise and mentor students; support academic success, retention, and professional growth.
- Participate in textbook selection and course planning in alignment with program goals and accrediting standards.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and maintain program accreditation through CAAHEP and
MAERB. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
- Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES-accredited Medical Assisting program.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from a MAERB-accredited organization (e.g., AAMA).
- At least three years of full-time work experience in medical assisting, medical assisting education, or a related healthcare field within the last seven years.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience in teaching/advising/mentoring college-level students with broad, diverse backgrounds is desired. Certified by the American Heart Association to teach BLS for Health Care Providers.
SALARY/BENEFITS
$55,000 per year This is a full-time position with paid state holidays, accrued annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
