Job Description

SUMMARY:
Responsible and accountable for performing tasks and activities in several areas of the clinical laboratory to assist the technicians in completion of MICRO setups and UA bench setups. Helps with specimen drops and tubes system as time allows between setups. Monitors the status of the workflow of the tasks involved and shall prioritize each task and report frequently and any issues that arise in workflow to the Laboratory Coordinator and Laboratory Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent with sufficient science classes to meet
CAP/CLIA
requirements
Experience:
2-3 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications:
ASCP preferred
Other:
Specialized schooling and/or on the job training in a specific skill area. Willingness to be cross-trained in several areas of the laboratory and ability to multi task efficiently and effectively during shift.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Spend 8 hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse, daily. Ability to stand and walk, occasionally bend, squat and twist, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds using proper body mechanics. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity with or without correction. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.
Work Environment :
Laboratory setting, within a hospital environment
