320164 Department PHYSICS (BL-PHYS-IUBLA) Department Information The Department of Physics is a medium-sized department in the College of Arts and Sciences, the oldest and largest academic division of Indiana University. More information about the department of Physics at Indiana University. Job Summary Prepares, performs maintenance, and teardown of equipment used in the introductory physics labs. Supports faculty and students by ensuring lab sessions are safe, well-organized, and technically functional. Setting up experiments, maintain equipment, managing supplies, and assisting with lab development and safety protocols. Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED of GED) Preferred Coursework in physics or engineering SKILLS Required Hands-on technical skills Strong organizational abilities Preferred Electronic repair skills Video editing 3D printing Fabrication experience Experience with instructional technology Experience with lab systems like PASCO or Vernier Working Conditions / Demands This position will work in a lab setting. This postiions requres the ability to work on schedule. Additional Information We prefer a non-student in this role. Work Location Bloomington, Indiana Physics labs in Swain West Work Hours Maximum of 20 hours per week. Depending on experience and skills additional hours up to 29 hours per week may be available.
