Position Overview The Lab Technician (Scanning Operator) is responsible for the day-to-day operation of equipment used to digitize pathology slides in a clinical or laboratory environment. This role focuses on scanning, quality assurance, and proper handling of specimens to ensure accurate digital imaging results. The Lab Technician works independently and collaboratively to maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and support efficient and high-quality digitization processes. Job Responsibilities Load pathology slides into scanning equipment in preparation for digitization Unload slides after scanning and return them to designated storage locations Review scanned images flagged for quality assurance and determine if rescanning is required Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to established schedules Troubleshoot equipment errors and resolve operational issues as they arise Conduct instrument calibrations as required Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance, issues, and completed work Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and consistent quality standards Job Requirements High attention to detail and accuracy in handling specimens and reviewing images Strong aptitude for operating technical or medical equipment Basic troubleshooting skills and ability to follow technical procedures Proficiency with computers and digital systems Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment Education High school diploma required Work Experience Experience in a medical, laboratory, or technical environment preferred Join our dynamic team as a Lab Technician and become a vital contributor to our innovative optical and ophthalmic manufacturing processes. Duties Set up and operate laboratory equipment, including optical lens edgers, CNC lathes, and machining tools, ensuring optimal performance for production tasks Interpret ophthalmic prescriptions and lens parameters accurately to produce high-quality lenses that meet customer specifications Manage laboratory workflows by adhering to

standards and laboratory procedures to maintain compliance and quality assurance Conduct optical lens edger calibrations, CNC machining, and other manufacturing processes with precision and attention to detail Identify lens parameters such as thickness, curvature, and prescription details during production and quality checks Maintain laboratory inventory, organize equipment setup for high-volume production, and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are upheld Support laboratory management by documenting procedures, performing routine maintenance, and assisting in process improvements Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology concepts, anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmic prescription abbreviation interpretation Proficiency with optical laboratory techniques including lens parameter identification and quality assurance practices Mechanical aptitude with experience in machining, CNC lathe operation, equipment setup (production tasks), and optical equipment calibration Familiarity with
