Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Aide to join our dynamic laboratory team. In this vital role, you will support laboratory operations by assisting with specimen processing, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Assist with the preparation, processing, and labeling of specimens following established laboratory procedures and safety protocols. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice), and other regulatory standards such as FDA regulations and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments). Manage inventory control using laboratory inventory management systems, ensuring supplies are stocked, properly stored, and documented accurately. Support microbiology, histology, molecular biology, and other specialized testing areas by preparing reagents, running routine tests, and recording data meticulously. Conduct routine cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments to uphold quality standards and minimize downtime. Assist in data collection, analysis, and documentation for research projects or diagnostic testing, ensuring accuracy and integrity of results. Collaborate effectively with team members across departments to facilitate smooth laboratory operations and maintain compliance with state health department regulations and GxP (Good Practice) guidelines. Requirements Prior experience working in a clinical or research laboratory setting is highly preferred. Strong understanding of laboratory techniques including microbiology, histology, molecular biology, and general lab procedures. Knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and laboratory information systems (LIS) for data entry and record keeping. Familiarity with laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration procedures, and method validation processes. Ability to interpret diagnostic test results accurately while adhering to strict regulatory standards such as FDA regulations, CLIA regulations, and state health department rules. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory efficiently using inventory management systems. Effective cross-functional communication skills for collaborating with scientists, technicians, supervisors, and clients. Demonstrated ability to follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) diligently while maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks performed. A proactive attitude toward learning new techniques and staying current with advancements in scientific research or clinical diagnostics.
