Primary 1st Shift (8:00 AM•5:00 PM). Must be flexible to transition to 3rd Shift (11:00 PM•7:00 AM) and work weekends only when specific production runs require coverage. Job Summary We are seeking a highly precise Quality Lab Associate I to join our Chemical Quality Management Laboratory team in Cleveland, MS. This position is responsible for performing quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses on intravenous solutions, medical devices, raw materials, and plant water systems. Operating within a highly regulated cGMP environment, you will utilize wet chemistry techniques and advanced analytical instrumentation to ensure absolute regulatory compliance and product quality.
Key Responsibilities Chemical Analysis:
Perform accurate quantitative and qualitative analysis on intravenous solutions, plant water (distilled/non-distilled), raw materials, and devices using wet chemistry and instrumental techniques.
Instrumentation & Data:
Utilize laboratory instrumentation and computer software to safely collect, process, and record scientific data.
Documentation & Review:
Complete analytical records and perform rigorous peer-reviews of laboratory documentation in strict compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Investigation & Deviations:
Conduct technical investigations for laboratory deviations, execute testing protocols, and author comprehensive exception/non-conformance documentation.
Lab Maintenance:
Maintain a highly organized, clean, and safe laboratory workspace utilizing structured 6S principles.
Safety Coordination:
Monitor environmental health and safety parameters within the department and immediately escalate any quality or mechanical discrepancies to management.
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, or Biology (with a heavy chemistry emphasis).
Experience:
2-4 years of industrial laboratory experience incorporating quantitative analysis or equivalent academic laboratory research.
Must meet strict visual metrics: cannot be color blind (verified via Ishihara's Test for Color Deficiency) and must pass near-vision visual acuity standards.
Communication:
Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to write objective technical documentation and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Note:
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a W2 basis without current or future visa sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Practical hands-on experience utilizing High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instrumentation. Prior experience working inside an FDA-regulated pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing facility.
