Category Respiratory - Sleep Tech Job Type Contract An immediate contract opportunity is available for an experienced Sleep Technologist or Respiratory Therapist, specializing in sleep studies. The position operates within a reputable sleep center and is designed for individuals committed to delivering high-quality patient care in sleep diagnostics.
Schedule:
Night shifts 40 hours per week
Qualifications:
Credentialed as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Candidates with RRT without RPSGT may be considered if they hold RST or RRT-SDS Respiratory therapists without RPSGT or accepted credential must complete A-STEP or an accredited polysomnography program within two years (may perform technical duties; scoring must be supervised) Technical and scoring duties may be performed independently if properly credentialed; otherwise, appropriate supervision is provided as mandated by AASM standards Experience in an AASM-accredited sleep center strongly preferred Exceptional interpersonal and patient care skills Strong attention to detail in monitoring and documenting sleep study readings
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and monitor patients during overnight sleep studies, ensuring comfort and safety Calibrate and operate sleep diagnostic equipment according to protocols Collect, review, and document accurate data from sleep studies Score sleep studies independently if credentialed, or under the direct supervision of a certified sleep professional Collaborate effectively with clinical team members to interpret results and inform patient care Maintain compliance with all organizational and accreditation standards
