With locations in Calgary, Canada, Coburg, Oregon, and Phoenix, Arizona. We offer a clean and safe work environment. Job Summary:
The Lab Technician's primary responsibility is to provide mechanical testing of extruded material in accordance with customer requirements and the Aluminum Standards Association guidelines, and to ensure that APEL's activities are performed and documented in accordance with APEL's quality requirements.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate tensile testing equipment safely and accurately. Maintain good understanding and the ability to train measuring techniques to adhere to the tolerances set forth by the Aluminum Standard Association. Conduct quality inspections on aluminum before, during and after all processing is completed. Retrieve and document data per our customers' requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns. Maintain a clean quality lab and manufacturing area. Promote the highest quality product, assist in the leadership and support of the Quality Management System. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Basic math and computational skills. Ability to work independently. Organizational skills. Basic technical capabilities. High School Diploma or Equivalent. A technical background is a plus, not required.
Working Environment:
Exposed to a production environment which includes noise, moving machinery, forklifts and fluctuations in temperature. Walled off room on the production floor. Personal Protective Equipment provided.
Physical Requirements:
Often walking, standing or sitting. Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and repetitive motion. Ability to walk up and down stairs. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. No phone inquiries, please.
