About Us EmeritusDX is a growing diagnostic laboratory providing accurate, clinically actionable test results to physicians nationwide. We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our molecular diagnostics and microbiology team. This position is best suited for someone with hands-on clinical laboratory experience who can work independently, manage a fast-paced workload, and consistently produce accurate and timely results.
Schedule:
Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with rotating Sundays Responsibilities Receive, verify, label, and process patient specimens Perform molecular testing, including specimen preparation, DNA extraction, PCR setup, and result review Perform microbiology testing according to established laboratory procedures Accurately document and release patient results in the laboratory information system Review quality-control data and recognize unusual or questionable results Troubleshoot specimen, reagent, instrument, and testing issues Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment Prepare reagents, controls, media, and other testing materials Monitor inventory and assist with ordering laboratory supplies Follow all SOPs, safety requirements, and regulatory standards Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready laboratory Assist with validations, proficiency testing, training, and quality-improvement activities as needed Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology, medical laboratory science, or a related field Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical laboratory, molecular diagnostics laboratory, or similar testing environment Hands-on experience with DNA extraction, real-time PCR, and clinical specimen processing Understanding of laboratory quality control, contamination prevention, and accurate documentation Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and meet turnaround-time expectations Strong communication and problem-solving skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and laboratory information systems
