1st Shift Position Overview We are seeking a Color Lab Technician to support color panel preparation and laboratory operations. This position focuses on preparing, mixing, testing, labeling, and processing paint samples and color panel requests while ensuring products meet established quality and color standards. This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys hands-on work, and is interested in building experience within an industrial laboratory and coatings environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and mix paint samples according to specifications and established product standards. Use various tools and techniques to accurately match colors and maintain consistency across paint samples. Prepare, fill, and process color panel requests. Operate machinery used to cut paint samples to the appropriate size. Apply labels to samples according to product specifications. Perform routine quality checks and basic testing to ensure samples meet required standards. Maintain accurate production and laboratory records, including request numbers, color codes, and other relevant information. Assist with preparing and analyzing materials and samples. Perform basic mathematical calculations related to laboratory and sample preparation activities. Clean and maintain laboratory work areas and equipment. Work both independently and as part of a team to maintain an efficient workflow and ensure orders are completed on time. Follow all laboratory, production, and workplace safety procedures. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Basic mathematical skills. Basic computer skills for data entry, communication, and data analysis. Ability to accurately distinguish between colors. Valid driver's license. Strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Preferred Qualifications Previous laboratory experience. Experience with paint, coatings, color matching, quality testing, or sample preparation. Basic understanding of paint concepts and property calculations. Knowledge of basic color theory. Familiarity with color-related laboratory instrumentation. Experience working in a manufacturing, production, quality, or industrial laboratory environment. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to sit and stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs as required. Comfortable working in a hands-on laboratory and production environment. Ability to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and wear required personal protective equipment. Comfortable working around varying levels of noise, dust, and industrial materials. #IND2
