POSITION SUMMARY
: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research and Development (R&D) Lab Technician with a background in customer service to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the development of new applications for polyvinyl alcohol as well as testing new products. Will also serve as a key point of contact for internal and external customers, providing technical support and fostering strong relationships. Execute a wide range of laboratory experiments and tests according to established protocols, contributing to the development of new products and the improvement of existing ones. This includes PVOH Applications, PVOH Synthesis and PVOH Analysis and Good Data Practices. Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences. Identify trends and anomalies and propose solutions or next steps. Diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise during experiments or in product performance. Proactively identify potential problems and suggest preventative measures. Provide exceptional technical support to customers, sales teams, and other internal departments regarding product specifications, application, and troubleshooting. Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally, offering accurate and helpful information. Work collaboratively and effectively communicate with cross-functional teams. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments, customer interactions, and technical inquiries. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment. Perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the lab and in customer support interactions. Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies. Will maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in chemistry preferred Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a Research and Development laboratory setting. Proven experience in a customer-facing role, providing technical support or service. Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques and equipment operation relevant to the specific industry (e.g., analytical instruments, material testing, synthesis and scale up work). Strong data analysis skills and proficiency with relevant software. Ability to understand and interpret technical specifications, schematics, and experimental protocols. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with customers. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a focus on customer satisfaction. Understanding and identifying Intellectual Properties (IP) opportunities Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and strong record-keeping abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong time management and prioritization skills. Adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques and technologies.
