Located in Cody, Wyoming. Not a remote position. The QC Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory work and analyses to support manufacturing and help ensure products meet company standards and specifications. The technician follows established procedures and laboratory safety requirements, maintains accurate records, and communicates results in a timely manner. Working directly with the Laboratory Manager and other laboratory personnel, the technician is expected to demonstrate dependable work habits, apply basic laboratory principles, and develop proficiency with increasingly complex laboratory instrumentation through training and hands-on experience.

Reporting Structure:

The QC Laboratory Technician reports to the Laboratory Manager or, in the Laboratory Manager's absence, to the Director of Quality.

Responsibilities:

Receive samples into the laboratory. Conduct routine laboratory analyses of polymer raw materials, in-process cleanout samples, R&D samples, stability samples, and final-product insecticide tags. Assist with R&D and field studies, including analysis and data collection. Accurately measure, weigh, mix, and prepare samples, solutions, reagents, and standards using basic laboratory principles. Record, review, and communicate laboratory results in a timely manner, and promptly notify appropriate laboratory personnel of unexpected, atypical, or out-of-specification (OOS) results. Assist with OOS and atypical-result investigations as directed. Prepare and maintain complete, accurate, and legible laboratory records, forms, labels, and electronic data entries. Perform weekly laboratory checks and routine equipment checks or calibrations in accordance with SOPs. Clean and maintain the work area and laboratory equipment, and help keep laboratory supplies organized and stocked. Operate basic laboratory equipment and, with training, learn to operate and maintain complex instrumentation, including Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), spectrophotometers, thermogravimetric analyzers (TGA), and differential scanning calorimeters (DSC). Follow all safety protocols, the Chemical Hygiene Plan, applicable Safety Data Sheets, and approved laboratory procedures. Remain current on required training and demonstrate a willingness to learn new methods, procedures, and instrumentation. Assist with R&D and field studies, new product development, analysis, and data collection as directed. Work cooperatively with laboratory and manufacturing personnel and prioritize assigned work to support on-time manufacturing needs. Perform other duties as assigned. General Responsibilities for

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; no college degree is required. Demonstrated strong work ethic, dependability, punctuality, accountability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Basic understanding of laboratory principles, measurements, sample handling, and safe work practices; prior laboratory coursework or hands-on experience is helpful but not required. Willingness and ability to learn laboratory methods, follow SOPs, and develop proficiency with complex laboratory instrumentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions consistently. Ability to perform basic calculations, review data, and use computers and software, including Microsoft applications. Prior knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred, with the ability to obtain a certificate in Good Laboratory Practices.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during an 8-hour shift. Willingness and ability to participate in a biological monitoring safety program that includes optional blood draws. Willingness and ability to use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to a lab coat, safety glasses, gloves, a hard hat, and a full-face respirator.
