The Detox Supervisor is responsible for managing medication monitoring/observation and coordination for the nursing, medical team and outside providers. They are responsible for supervising the direct support for clients and administrative needs regarding client intake and detox process. The Detox Supervisor also upholds licensing and Joint Commission standards within the facility, creating and maintaining a safe environment within the facility and implementing clinical interventions developed by the clinical team. Minimum Qualifications Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) Experience with crisis management and de-escalation techniques. CPR / First Aid certified. Experience with crisis management and de-escalation techniques. Two years of experience in a behavioral health residential treatment setting, supporting individuals with a primary mental health diagnosis. Must be familiar with general pharmacy abbreviations and demonstrate awareness and competency with managing lookalike, soundalike medications. Specific, required, current, and active licensure, registration, or certification must be maintained in good standing. Preferred candidates should have sound understanding of mental illness, co-occurring disorders, detox and recovery treatment. Proficient computer skills and ability use various software programs. Have a valid driver's license in good standing and auto insurance. Successfully complete drug screen and comprehensive background check. Successfully complete required health screening, including a current and valid TB clearance Criminal record clearance First Aid/CPR certified Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as needed. Flexibility and adaptability in schedule are essential. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Supervise detox nurses in absence of Director of Health Services Cover shifts that become open (per availability) Facilitate making appointments and scheduling for clients as needed Compile and organize on site client medical records/results file Oversee and complete

client documentation in absence of Director of Health Services Participate in the training of new employees/current staff as needed Facilitate and complete intake of new client admissions as they arrive (not including closing detox for new admission) Greet new clients, record their medical history and presenting symptoms, and assist with the intake process. Routinely supervise and document clients detox progress and report findings to nursing management and clinical team. Maintain ethics, honesty, and integrity as it relates to working with controlled substances and potential for diversion. Must consistently follow policy and procedure designed to eliminate the potential for medication diversion. Verify controlled substance logs were completed appropriately. Drive own or company vehicle according to policy, to be available to run errands and transport clients to labs and doctor appointments, if applicable. Supervise daily audits and medication counts within where observation of self-administered medication is conducted. Medication disposal as required. Complete vitals for clients based on recommendation of nursing and medical team. Ability to read and implement treatment plans. Supervise maintenance of nursing department supplies and over the counter medication supplies. Communicate effectively and promptly with members of the entire treatment team via shift reports, email, phone call, etc. Maintains comprehensive clinical documentation that meets or exceeds relevant legal, ethical and accreditation standards. Participate as a part of the health care team to assess client needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions. Be liaison for pharmacy, including communicating client's medication needs promptly. Maintain the Medication Administration Record for each client. Report and document observations and client responses to programs directly to clinical team. Ensure provision of care and supervision to meet client needs. Review medical team orders and enter into the client's electronic record. Schedule appointments as needed for clients. Documents personal requests from clients and communicates their needs to the primary therapist. Provides support and assistance with training for Residential Support Staff with regards to medication setup and administration support. Assist with establishing care for clients with medical team within 30 days of new client intake. Demonstrate good professional judgment and integrity, especially in areas relating to client care, supervision, licensing, and Joint Commission. Fully understand and maintain policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and client confidentiality; monitor documents according to company and HIPAA policies. Professionally, ethically, and compassionately relates to clients, families, referral sources and staff at all times. Report resident abuse and neglect. Attend and participate in assigned and required trainings, supervisions, and weekly meetings. Ability to demonstrate awareness and respect for cultural, lifestyle, age, gender, and sexual orientation diversities of clients and staff; apply knowledge of age, gender, and multi-cultural counseling skills. Understands and adheres to SMH's compliance standards as they appear in SMH's Ethics and Code of Conduct Policy and Conflict of Interest Policy. Performs other related duties as assigned. #priority
