Job Description

Madison County Government offers a competitive compensation package including: Competitive wages on a step plan with guaranteed increases based on years of service. You may be eligible for Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Summary of Position Provides professional nursing and screening services in the clinic, in the community, and in the home to prevent or reduce the spread of diseases and/or conditions in our community Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Provides immunization services to adults and children by following ACIP guidelines and physician orders Provides tuberculosis screening services to adult and children by following physician standing orders Provides vision and hearing screenings for preschool children as outlined by the IDPH grant and guidelines Provides vision and hearing screenings for school age children by following current guidelines Follows up with individuals in need of assistance Checks the operation of screening equipment and schedules calibrations or other needed maintenance Provides other clinic services such as, but not limited to, pregnancy testing by following MD standing orders Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of vision and hearing training programs as prescribed by the Illinois Department of Public Health or a current IDPH Vision and Hearing certificate, certification from a one-year practical nurse's school, an Illinois State LPN license, and one (1) year of related experience. A valid Driver's License is also required. Must complete any and all prescribed certifications and/or courses relevant to position. Physical Requirements The employee is required to walk or move up to 200 feet from primary desk. The employee is required to enter and exit a vehicle frequently. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Some specific vision abilities are required by this job.
