Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Embrace a unique and rewarding nursing opportunity supporting students in a year-round educational setting. This contract role focuses on providing care to a medically fragile student throughout the Extended School Year (ESY) and regular academic year. The assignment involves accompanying the student to and from their out-of-district school, ensuring safety and well-being during transit. Your day begins at the student's home by 7:20 am, riding alongside on their bus journey to school in Massachusetts, and concludes with a return trip in the afternoon. You will form an essential part of the student's routine, contributing care and reassurance to a non-verbal child experiencing motor and developmental delays.
Key Qualifications:
Active RN or LPN license for New Hampshire Experience in school nursing or providing care to medically complex children is highly valued Ability to respond swiftly and calmly in emergent situations Strong communication skills, compassion, and professional discretion
Responsibilities:
Accompany and monitor the student throughout daily van rides to and from school Administer nursing care as outlined in the student's health plan Use safe transfer techniques for a student with mobility limitations Provide medication, seizure management, suctioning, or any necessary interventions Maintain accurate health records and communicate closely with parents and educational staff Foster a caring, supportive environment during transitions This position requires a commitment to a 20-hour week, beginning July 6th and continuing through the academic year.
