A dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) is needed to provide specialized care for an 8-year-old child in 3rd grade who requires ongoing medical attention during the school day. The position involves a contract assignment beginning September 15, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

Meet the student at their residence each morning to begin the school day. Accompany the student on the bus to and from school, ensuring their safety and monitoring their medical needs during transit. Deliver consistent, 1:1 nursing support throughout the school day, addressing the specific needs of a child with a tracheostomy and Passy-Muir valve. Collaborate closely with school staff and the school nurse, who will provide coverage during scheduled breaks. Maintain clear communication with parents and the educational team to ensure continuity of care. Foster a supportive, compassionate environment that empowers the student to participate fully in the academic setting.

Desired Qualifications:

Active LPN or LVN license in good standing. Prior experience working in a school setting or with pediatric patients is highly preferred. Strong comfort level and skills in tracheostomy and Passy-Muir valve care are essential. Ability to ride the school bus with the student and adapt to both home and school settings. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Reliable, punctual, and caring approach to sensitive medical support for children.
