Key Responsibilities Resident Assessment:

Observe, assess, document, and report resident conditions and changes during rounds.

Care Implementation:

Ensure resident care plans are correctly followed and implemented.

Medication Administration:

Give prescribed medications and perform narcotic counts (reconciliation) between shifts.

Physician Communication:

Complete required nursing assessments before calling a doctor regarding any change in a resident's health.

Supervision:

Monitor and oversee certified nursing aides.

Documentation:

Complete accident, incident, and discharge reports according to facility policy.

Family Communication:

Update residents' designated points of contact on status changes. [ 1 ] Qualifications Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program.
