Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Medical Assistant (Temporary) to join our Central Valley health and wellness team. The position will be based at our wellness center in Lost Hills, located within our pistachio processing and packaging facility. The Medical Assistant will work with a team of clinicians, health coaches and social workers to provide wellness care to the company's employees and families. For the right candidate, this will provide an incredible opportunity to build, develop and foster collaboration among a team that is evolving a new model for world-class health and wellness that can have an immense positive impact for underserved and vulnerable populations. Work will be split across clinical care and medical reception.
Clinic care:
Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient histories and vital signsPrepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instrumentsAdminister injections and apply dressings as instructedPrepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilizationAssist with scheduling of tests and treatmentsOrder and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipmentMaintain Electronic Medical Records, files, and other informationCompile and condense technical and statistical data for reports and recordsMaintain equipment in a clean and safe condition always Medical reception: Welcome patients/clients/visitors to the clinic in a manner that is helpful and friendly; determine the purpose of the visit and direct to the appropriate person or programProvide information to callers; transfer calls as needed; work with the Health and Wellness team to ensure adequate phone coverage at all timesSchedule patients for clinic visits; call patients to confirm; follow up with patients for missed appointmentsMaintain business office inventory and equipmentRegister new patients and update/verify existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information and eligibility status that is accurate and up-to-dateEnter and compile technical and statistical data for reports and recordsManage and update the clinic staff schedules to reflect patient care, blocked time, personal time, etc.Unlock and lock clinic rooms, cabinets, and drawers to ensure patient confidentiality is maintainedOther duties as assigned QualificationsMedical Assistant Certificate 1+ year of experience in a healthcare settingPhlebotomy certification and experience, highly preferredWritten and verbal fluency in Spanish requiredExcellent communication skills at a level necessary for taking patients' medical histories, understanding provider and supervisor instructions, and accurately documenting patients' medical informationAbility to multitask and work effectively in a high-stress and fast-moving environment Possess a thorough understanding of the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure according to the general standards set forth by HIPAACulturally sensitive and demonstrated ability and effectiveness working with ethnically diverse populations
Pay Rate:
$23.00/Hour.
