Busy 6 physician retina specialty practice is looking for a full-time back office medical assistant to join our team. We offer a competitive salary (which is based on experience), medical benefits, paid holidays, a profit sharing plan, 10 days vacation a year(after one years service), and 10 days sick pay per year (after one years service). Job is primarily for offices that are located in Santa Cruz county.
Qualifications:
Bilingual Spanish a plus. Must be willing and able to travel to all 6 offices locations. Job will be based in Santa Cruz County but traveling to ALL other offices as needed is required. Must be able to work overtime as needed.
MA, EMT, COA, COT
certifications are a plus.
Duties include:
Completing any patient medical records with accuracy and in a timely manner. Compassionately and professionally communicating with patients. Promptly and professionally assists the doctor in patient care. Performs technical workups, patient interviews, and special testing. Working in a team environment. Creates patient diagnostic records and maintains a cross-referenced diagnosis/patient database. Maintains certification to meet criteria for research studies. Maintains photo supply and equipment inventory and reviews all requests for supply purchases for clinical operations. Manages upkeep and review of facility diagnostic equipment, including ophthalmic photographic inventory, visual field testing instruments and ultrasound instruments. Communicates with patients regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, changes in schedule, symptoms, surgery scheduling, etc. Maintains and cleans all equipment being used, and reports to supervisor if not in working condition. Returns phone calls to patients and pharmacies. Assists in minor surgery. Maintains patient confidentiality. Demonstrates flexibility in job assignment. Takes pride and ownership in success and image of Practice. Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals. Clinical ophthalmic duties such as visual acuity, intra-ocular pressure checks, photography, OCT's , Visual Fields, and other diagnostic photographic studies.' '
